WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT GINA

Testimonials

When I met the designer for Vancouver Aboriginal Transformative Justice Services Society, Gina Mae Schubert, she was walking in the door of our office which was still under construction.  The desk had been set up close to the front door and we were both startled when she walked in.  She explained to me that the location of the desk was in the wrong position for the Feng Shui, and that it was going to be a custom desk located in another position, which would be beneficial for me.  Once the desk was made, and I was in position, I could feel what she said. I wasn’t aware of how the flow energy worked inside a space, but you can really feel the calming energy as soon as you walk in. I also feel sheltered inside the desk, which Gina Mae designed as it has a built-in partition between the clients and me, I absolutely love the space and so do our clients. I love the interior space Gina Mae created!

As an Indigenous organization, one of the most important factors when starting on our renovation journey, was to have an Indigenous Designer who could truly understand what it meant to create a culturally safe space. We were truly blessed to find Gina Mae! Right from the beginning Gina Mae understood our vision and the importance of the work we do for the community. Gina Mae used our inspiration to create a beautiful, welcoming and safe space. She enhanced every aspect of our space, right down to the tiniest details, in ways that we could never have dreamed of! Right from the start she was able to help make changes to the architectural plans that capitalized on the use of windows and light. As a small not for profit, our budget was not flexible and Gina Mae understood these limitations and went above and beyond to make sure she found the best solutions to meet our needs. Perhaps one of my favorite things about working with Gina Mae, is her ability to really listen and be willing to make changes, add or delete plans as necessary. I really felt at every step of the way that she was dedicated to creating the space exactly how we wanted it, for our staff, clients and community. The end result far exceeded anything we could have dreamed of. We have a space that is bright, comfortable, beautiful and most important culturally safe and relevant. Gina Mae has a talent and vision that is magical and special.

“Gina Mae Schubert performed beyond our expectations in consultation, design and communication regarding our Tamarind Cove Enclave. Our concept required someone who understood “casual elegance” and could apply that understanding seamlessly within our basic design parameters. We enthusiastically recommend her whenever we get the opportunity.”

“In a world of many television inspired designer wanna-be’s, Gina Mae Schubert rises far above the crowd as the rare – real thing. Gina Mae gently extrudes the desires of imagery, sense of purpose and mood from her client, whether corporate or individual, and impeccably implements these wishes in the finished physical design. I recommend her highly, having utilized Gina Mae Schubert Design for two homes as well as corporately. She gives exceptional value and is very easy to work with.”

“I have worked with Gina Mae Schubert on our 2nd home in the Hamptons in NY. She was able to turn a 1960s basic country home into a luxurious yet charming country oasis. Her use of wonderful colors, textures, and smart re-configuration of our spaces created a beautiful, welcoming, open plan for our entire family and guests to enjoy. She turned our peculiar and small master bedroom and bathroom into a very romantic, light filled space and brought in elements of French country furniture, and luxurious textiles and fabrics with a clean and creative style.”
